Moondance Diner

Belated pics of the Moondance, now that I've been a couple of times. The Pierces have done a nice job on the remodel, even using the former exterior metal corrugated siding -- complete with authentic graffiti -- under the chair rail around the booths. It's cozy, and we're glad to have it.

I might be the wrong person to make that call, because I don't have a very refined palette. I'll eat anything. I don't know what they served in New York but it's pretty run-of-the-mill diner food with fun Old West names, and I think it's pretty tasty. They're like 45 miles from the railroad and about 125 miles from a freeway, so getting supplies has to be pretty difficult and results in things like bulk canned cheese and Wonder bread, but you can do a lot with frozen tater tots!

Anonymous, it IS the Moondance Diner in NYC. It was going to be demolished due to development but a couple from Wyoming bought it and trucked it two-thirds of the way across the country and opened the diner in LaBarge, Wyoming, a town with a population of about 350. Winter snow collapsed the roof and it took them a while to get it rebuilt, but it opened earlier this year.
