Geminids

I watched the meteor shower from under the albizia tree last night about midnight, before the clouds came in. There were quite a few, and bright even though the moon was full. Couldn't photograph it so painted it in Procreate on the iPad.

This reminded me of a photo of the moon hanging in our house. It was taken by an appliance repairman who visited to repair our washing machine. He looked at all the art around the house (we have to be stopped) and said I have a gift for you. He ran out to his truck and came back with a beautiful 8X10 photo of the moon. He takes them from the porch of his house and he's really serious about learning to shoot better and better images of the moon, and then along the way he's learning more and more about the moon. This guy doesn't photograph anything else. He gives them to certain customers who he thinks will appreciate what he does. I asked him to sign it for Sheila, and of course he had a silver sharpie with him just in case. We framed it up and next time an appliance broke, he was really happy when he saw it up in our house, framed and in a really choice spot.
