Update III

So, I was worried and guilty, so I took a walk around the neighborhood and when I didn't see the kitten, I came home, and who should I find sitting on my chair when I came back in? I had a feeling he was still here somewhere, but where the heck was he hiding? Anybody want a kitten?

At our old place, we had a number of cats show up in the winter over the years, hungry and pathetic. If they got on OK with the others, we typically fed them and if they stuck around, we took them to the vet, cleaned them up and welcomed them to the family. I guess that's why we have six cats. As Tuffy says, the first two are the hardest.

HA! That's so true. I remember agonizing over the first one; I lived in an apartment complex that didn't allow pets, but I wanted company so bad. There was no question about the second one, for some reason, perhaps because he picked me. (The best pets are the ones that just show up, aren't they?)

It's housing that's the issue. I suspect that people in Wyoming might be slightly more negligent pet owners than people in some other places, because Wyoming landlords are for the most part unfriendly to pets, and from what I've seen while pricing apartments in a lot of cities, you pay a deposit at most properties and pets are welcome. Just one more reason to get out of here.
