Appeasement
Since I got home late Thursday night, I've endured/enjoyed a water treatment crisis, a quick visit from Mom, pressing Halloween preparations, and a dangerous deficiency of sleep. So to pacify the curious throngs, a set of stunning photos of New England will have to suffice until something comprehensive can be written up. Thank you.
Covered bridge in Vermont
*Update: 2.4 people have pointed out how much this bridge resembles the one from which the Maitlands dove to their deaths in Beetlejuice. And no, that's not why I took a picture of it, although that is hysterical.

Beautiful photos, as always. I'm going to Vermont in two weeks and I CAN'T WAIT!
I feel appeased. And amazed at the way in which the ivy on my house is even more interesting-looking than I had realized...!
Thank you, Dot! Enjoy, and congratulations on your impending nuptials! Mr. Benchley is a lucky guy.
Larry, it takes new eyes! Ivy, in my observation, is like facial hair: only some people (houses) can pull it off. The ivy on your house is like the most impressive furry green goatee I've ever seen.
Thanks so much for the great adventure. A rainy parade on vacation is much more fun than rain at 1:00 a.m. when the water plant you're trying to save keeps finding reasons to send you outside.
I want to know who constitutes the other four-tenths of a person who commented on the Beetlejuice connection. Who are these fractional people you speak of?
yeah, i don't know any .4 of a person. but chad told me that we are going to name our third child .3 to fit in with what people call "noraml sized familes". but we'll probable just call him george.
great photos! i like the book store, and the glowing green dog eyes.
Ha! on both counts. I guess it was more like four-tenths of a suggestion really, because someone started to say, "That looks like the bridge from..." but got cut off and we never got back to it. I knew where it was headed, though.
