A Place in the Sun

Decker and Dad on Highway 189

This photo is beautiful in many ways--the composition, the reflected spots of light, the color, the way the eye is drawn by multiple diagonal lines towards the center. Well done, A.

Thank you! I actually Photoshopped the spots of light out (they're pits in my windshield) and it somehow took so much away that I put them back in.

My dad died in April and Decker was his best friend, so I printed this out and framed it for him as a memento of happy times. They spent hours on the road together just having adventures.

Survey says: Impala? What year — about a '64 or '65? My dad had one in brown that preceded his '74 Camaro.

It really is a great photo.

Oops. For some reason I messed with the link and made it so the picture couldn't be enlarged. Jeez. I fixed it.
